Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 25, 2026

The short version: your moods, symptoms, notes and tags are stored only on your device. We run no journal backend, require no account, and never see, collect, sell or share your journal. The free version shows ads served by Google, which involves standard advertising data (never your journal content). Pro removes ads, and the app stops making new ad requests once Pro is confirmed.

What the app stores — and where

Everything you enter in Quiet MoodLog is saved in a local database on your device:

Mood entries (rating, date and time, optional note, optional tags)
Symptom entries (name, intensity, date and time, optional note)
Your settings (theme, reminder time, app-lock configuration, Pro status)

None of this is transmitted to us or to any server we control — we operate no journal backend and have no technical ability to read your journal. The app disables Android's automatic cloud backup and excludes its journal files from iOS backups, so moving your journal is an explicit action you take (see Backups and exports below).

What the developer collects about you

No journal or account data. The app has no accounts, no developer analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service operated by us, and no developer-operated tracking. The third-party advertising processing used by the free version is described separately below.

Advertising in the free version

The free version displays a small banner ad served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process data such as:

Device identifiers (such as the advertising ID, where permitted)
Approximate location derived from IP address
Ad interaction data and general device/diagnostic information

Your journal content is never shared with Google or included in ad requests. This processing is described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from partners.

Consent first: before requesting ads, the app asks Google's consent system whether ads may be requested and presents any required privacy form. You can reopen available advertising privacy choices from Settings.
On iOS, any eligible Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt is requested only after that consent step. If you decline tracking, ads may still appear without permission to track across other companies' apps and websites.
Pro removes ads. Once Pro is confirmed, the app does not explicitly initialize advertising services or issue new ad requests. On later launches it holds ad requests until the store entitlement check completes. The mobile operating system may still load code registered by the advertising SDK during platform startup; that is not an ad request.

Purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment details and no personal information from your purchase; the stores handle billing under their own privacy policies. The unlock is recorded on your device and can be restored through the store on the same store account.

Notifications

The optional daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. No push-notification service or server is involved.

Backups and exports

You can create an encrypted backup of your journal at any time. Backups are encrypted on your device with a passphrase you choose (AES-256; the key is derived from your passphrase and never leaves your device — we cannot recover a lost passphrase). You decide where backup, CSV or PDF files go via your device's share sheet; anything you share to a cloud service is governed by that service's policies and is your choice.

Data deletion

You can delete individual entries at any time, or erase every journal entry with Settings → Delete all data. Uninstalling removes the app container and local journal. On some platforms, the operating system may retain device-protected cryptographic key or lock-verifier material after uninstall; it does not contain your journal entries, notes or symptoms. Because we hold no journal copy, there is nothing for us to delete on any server.

Children

Quiet MoodLog is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your region), and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The free version includes the advertising-data processing described above. If you believe a child has contacted us or provided information to us, please use the contact address below.

Quiet MoodLog is a self-reflection tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Insights shown in the app are simple statistics computed from your own entries, on your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
